Members of the Dumfries Musical and Operatic Society (as it was then called) dressed up as clowns and walked ahead of the main parade to get the waiting crowd warmed up ready for the floats to pass. |

Over the same weekend, the annual Truck and Bus Show took place on a local showfield. A number of the vintage trucks and buses also took part in the Guid Nychburris parade. |
